Southern Belle

I made this recently and it took hardly any time. This is one of my more elaborate dresses that I have made. I am proud of it, except that it looks better on my dress form than on me. It is fitted to her, but I am a little smaller than she is. Her measurements are one inch bigger than mine in the bust, waist, and butt (hips). I tried to make it one inch smaller but i guess it was an inch too big on her to begin with. The chest, however, is perfect, but the waist is still too big. Oh well. I'm getting better at making it fit me. The dress form helps a lot. Anyways, I made the top skirt (green) as one piece with the bodice and then the white under skirt is it's own part. I also will wear it over a hoop skirt. So I will wear 3 skirts.
I want to make a blue version of this dress but i will have to wait until I get more money. It's pretty.
That's Artemis in the chair. He's sleeping. As I hemmed the skirts, he went under the hoop skirt and played under there, watching the other cats. He played with a string near where I was sewing and I saw him so it didn't scare me when he touched my tow with his cold, wet nose. He's so cute! Anyways, he likes to play under my skirt.
Just to clarify, this dress is for me. I make stuff for me or my boyfriend. That's pretty much it. Sometimes, I make stuff for other people. I'm making LegendaryDarkness a kimono (BTW I found the pattern so I can make it without buying another one! Yay!).
